Oh my goodness, there is a new show in town and it’s called “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style!” You may remember Mr. Gunn as the awesome co-host of Project Runway. Well now he’s got a “Queer Eye” type makeover show, and it rocks!

Mostly it just rocks because Tim actually has a really good eye and so all his makeovers are true successes. He assesses each new case individually, and picks them a look that matches their personality, job, etc…
It doesn’t hurt that Tim has an awesome co-host in 90s supermodel Veronica Webb. She’s nice but direct too. In fact, both of them are really good at telling these women their honest opinions while also making sure that no one’s feelings get hurt.
Last, like “Queer Eye,” the makeover materials are all quality. Unlike some makeover shows where the poor contestants have to paw through racks at crappy department stores, this show takes them to the best salons, lingerie stores, clothing designers, etc… It makes it so much more exciting when someone gets a makeover from Cynthia Rowley herself, don’t you think?
It’s on Bravo. Re-played all the time. Watch it!
Well, last night’s second episode of GG was a bit better. But just “a bit.”
Improvements: pace of the show was a bit faster, better shots of the fashion, Blair’s character got some depth
Needs work: the parents (They keep waffling between real characters and caricatures. Pick one and stick to it.), shooting locations (OK, we have seen enough of the Palace hotel. Why no school shots?), the Brooklyn-ites (The entire Humphrey family is WAY too balanced - no way two adolescent siblings would want a garage door between their rooms).
Creepiest plot choice: It’s a tie between a brother and sister deciding that a near-rape of the 14 year-old sister does not warrant telling a parent AND seeing two hotel concierge staffers basically prostituted to a 17 year-old (see below).
Best outfit: Either the cropped jacket get-up worn by Mrs. Van Der Woodsen at the brunch OR Blair’s eyelet dress with lace stockings.
My interest in this show is waning.
Perusing red carpet arrival pics, I couldn’t help but notice that Anne Hathaway’s look is remarkably similar to Audrina from the “Hills” at two completely different events. Who looks better? (Hint: rhymes with “modrina”)

Well, Perez Hilton just posted this picture of Minka Kelly (Lila Garrity on Friday Night Lights) and John Mayer. They’ve been rumored to be dating, and here’s the evidence.
I’m really torn because it gives FNL some much-needed pop cultural recognition, but Mayer goes through girlfriends like most of us go through tissues.
For those of you who caught last night’s episode of “The Hills,” you may recall seeing Spencer and Heidi creating a registry at Crate & Barrel.
Well, someone did a little recon after the show and discovered a) the Crate & Barrel registry is gone and b) has been replaced by a Tiffany & Co registry!
Not really sure if it’s for real, but they picked really normal looking stuff!
