A good sign: ESPN writer Bill Simmons (”The Sports Guy”) is pleading with his readers to ensure Friday Night Lights lives on.
Also, in case you haven’t seen Friday Night Lights, you can watch every episode from Season 1 on NBC’s site (U.S. only). Season 2 starts October 5th at 9pm so you have a little time to catch up.

I’m obviously late to the party (I just watched the first disc of 4 episodes on DVD last night) but I’m already hooked. I won’t be watching Gossip Girl (sorry, but the wounds from CW’s cancellation of Veronica Mars without a suitable wrapup are still too fresh), and my “other new shows to watch” list is pretty small (Bionic Woman, Pushing Daisies, and perhaps Chuck), but I will DEFINITELY be staying in on Friday nights for FNL. Unbelievable show….in the first 4 episodes alone, the scene where Coach Taylor takes Saracen to the empty stadium and helps him find his voice? Incredibly inspiring.
So watch FNL…everyone. Seriously, you can go out for drinks/to party afterwards. But big ratings on Friday night may save this show.

Second (or I suppose, third) - I didn’t pick up the show until the 4th episode, but I plan on making time to rewatch the entire first season before October 5.
And I don’t care if they won the Emmy for “Outstanding Casting” (what?) - I firmly believe Connie Britton got screwed by not even getting nominated for Best Actress in a Drama. I’d list reasons, but I don’t want to ruin surprises for Chad.
