I’ve been on school vacation and away from wireless internet, so this is a catch-up post!

Friday Night Lights:

Now that tomorrow’s episode is almost upon us it seems too little too late, but I just want to put out there that I really liked the season premiere last friday.  Even with The Big Drama of Tyra & Landry, I was really pleased with the episode! Yes, it’s melodramatic. Yes, it was unnecessary. But I have faith that the writers of FNL will make The Big Drama play out in some unexpected way.  The rest of the episode was awesome! All the characters are in crisis of some sort and it was a really good way to jump start some drama for this season.

The Hills:

What the heck was with this week’s show? It was a “Catch Up”  non-episode that was basically a waste of a half hour. I don’t like it when show’s mess with me by pulling things like this over faithful fans. Let’s just hope that the next Jason/LC blowout is right around the corner. Or at least some Teen Vogue drama…

 Across the Universe:

Last night I finally caught this Beatles movie musical at the local multiplex. It was definitely worth seeing, though relatively disappointing. Weirdest of all is that Bono and Salma Hayek make cameos! The Beatles songs are so good that parts of the movie just get carried by the emotional strength of the tunes. Some of the 1960s imagery and plotlines are waaaaaaay too heavy-handed. A lot of the imagery was incredible - really psychedelic and weird, but incredible.
