This new Hallmark ad shocks me. It depicts a normal mom dreaming of a “Fabulous Baker Boys” moment with her fantasy heartthrob… Barry Manilow.
Does this accurately depict ANY American? I can just see the Hallmark execs sitting around the table while the one 40-something who has a Barry Manilow obsession insists that these CDs will sell like hotcakes.
Anyone else think that Barry is starting to look just like the blonde guy from Sigfried & Roy?

Now do this same ad with Neil Diamond….well, you’d see Soviet-style bread lines at your local Hallmark store.

Not Sigfried (or Roy, whichever) as much as a male, blond Liza Minelli.
