Katherine Heigl of “Grey’s Anatomy” makes some scandalous comments about her recent box office hit “Knocked Up” in her new Vanity Fair article.

“It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! While I agree with some of the points that Heigl makes about the depiction of women in the film, “Knocked Up” was the first film break that Heigl was thrown since “My Father the Hero” with Gerard Depardieu. She read the script. She signed onto the project. Quit whining! I will say that Katherine is a very good model, though (I think she has modeling experience). Check out these retro-looking (not so feminist either) pinup girl shots:heigl.jpgheigl2.jpg

How much does she look like Charlize Theron in this one?!?

This is a toughie. Who’s a bigger fashion zombie?

Here’s Katherine Heigl wearing just about every misguided trend of last season: oversized sleeveless poncho sweater, long T-shirt belted with a giant pirate belt, pencil jeans tucked into victorian granny brown boots.

Here’s Madonna, walking around London in a striped Smurf hat, some weird turquoise graphic tee, and a long, shiny black parka.

So I was watching Extra! on TV last night and saw some red carpet footage with Katherine Heigl at the Emmys.

heigl1.jpg

Two interesting facts:

1. This dress is white denim!! Denim! You go, Zac Posen!

2.  I’ve always heard that Katherine doesn’t work with a stylist, and chooses her red carpet stuff herself. Well - It’s certainly not true anymore. She thanked “my stylist, Nicole” in a mock thank-you speech, so I guess she does in fact have a stylist.

That is all. Have to blog about Gossip Girl now.

First of all, I will say that there was a CLEAR winner of the night and it was Katherine Heigl. This dress fit her wonderfully, and she looked great on the red carpet, onstage and at the afterparties. White is normally not my favorite red carpet choice, so it’s even cooler that she looked so great. Though I personally find her surprisingly un-photogenic, she really looked amazing. Way to go!

larter.jpg

Ali Larter looked great - This red dress was hot on her, and I loved her simple makeup and diamond earrings. Red Satin + Blonde + Diamonds = It Just Works!

bell.jpg

The blondes just kept getting it right! Kristen Bell looked lovely and I am really impressed that she decided not to mess this up with a necklace. I love this color on her and the grecian drapey look is really young and fun with her messy hairstyle. Beautiful!

panettiere.jpgpanettiereclose.jpg

I’m gonna fight for this one til the cows come home… A lot of people hated Hayden Panettiere’s voluminous peach gown, but I really liked it and appreciated something new on the red carpet. It’s also just an exquisite work of fashion, as you can see in the close-up afterparty shot. Look at the bodice and the brooch in the center. Look at the braided straps. Most of all, look at how perfectly Hayden’s skin, hair and makeup all look with this color. She’s young, she’s fun and she can afford to wear something exciting! If you really hated it, then you can check out what she changed into for the other afterparties, which is pretty darn cute:postpartypanettiere.jpg

pressly.jpgpresslyclose.jpg

While I’m sticking my neck out, I might as well go whole hog and say that I also loved Jaimie Pressly’s drapey black and silver number. She just had a baby, tried to go for something more mature, and I think it looks fantastic. It’s not super form-fitting, but it looked great onstage when she claimed her Emmy. Also her star dangly earrings were really cool and her makeup made her eyes glitter.christina.jpg

Even though Christina Aguilera’s number with Tony Bennett was yawnsville, I really liked this hot pink maternity gown she wore. That is one HOT pregnant lady! And I usually hate hot pink, but somehow it looks nice on Christina here. I’d lose the dyeables, but otherwise a great ensemble.

falco.jpg

I loved this floral embroidered tank dress that Edie Falco wore. A lot of people thought it was bland, but those people forget how hard it is to dress your age when you are an older woman actress. They always get slammed for trying to show too much skin, and here is Edie Falco looking classy, attractive and happy. I really liked it and thought it fit her style perfectly.

sigler.jpgsiglermakeup.jpg

Jamie Lynn Sigler’s dermatologist should get a medal. While the dress is cool, and I definitely think she deserves a spot on the “Best Dressed” list, so much of her look is based around her incredible, glowing skin. Seriously - LOOK AT HER SKIN. She is radiant!

I didn’t love Marcia Cross’ low-cut dress, but I thought these gigantic turquoise earrings looked so nice with her red hair. And they really stood out in all the Desperate Housewives group shots, so kudos to her. If you’re only going to get a quarter of the frame, you might as well wear big jewelry.

field.jpg

Sally Field looked adorable! I can’t find any pictures of her NOT on the red carpet, which is unfortunate since she clashes so terribly here. But this dress was simple and she looked so nice in it. A really great look for her.

parker.jpg

Last but not least, Mary Louise Parker. She looks so good in red! Between her and Ali Larter, everyone else in red faded into the background. I don’t really love this dress, but on her it totally works and she looks so good.
